Radiologists are knows as medical doctors who specialized in treating and diagnosing injuries and disease using radiology (medical imaging) tests such as computed tomography (CT), X-rays, nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and positron emission tomography (CET).

A CT scan (also called CAT scan) uses X-rays to make detailed cross section images of the internals of your body. During the test, you will lie on a table that is attached to the scanner and the body area being examined or studied will have X-rays directed at it.

Ultrasound is an noninvasive imaging technique that uses high intensity sound waves to show the internal structures of the body. Unlike x-rays ultrasound does not use radiation. Although it is mostly associated with pregnancy it is used in several different situations to look inside different parts of your body.
